The definitive ranking of the web's fastest news publishers
Behind every fast news website is a difficult engineering problem: dozens of third-party vendors, all competing for execution time and hurting publisher revenues. The winners on this list have clearly worked hard to crack this problem and these awards exist to recognise that achievement.
The runners up in our results are performing well, but "well" still means vendor scripts introducing latency on every page load, on every visit. Without visibility into which vendors are responsible, fixing it means guesswork.
The Site Speed Awards recognize news websites that deliver exceptional user experiences through superior performance. Rankings are based on real-world data from the Chrome User Experience Report (CrUX).
Scoring is based on three Core Web Vitals:
Each metric is normalized on a 0-100 scale relative to the performance of all 50 top news publishers. The final score is the average of these three metrics.
